What does the “discount” in “Discount Sofa Warehouse” mean?

We do apply a discount to all the furniture we sell. That being said, it doesn’t mean we are cheap or able to hit every pricepoint.

All of our furniture is custom made in the US, Canada or Mexico by relatively small brands and our pricepoints reflect that level of customizability and build quality.

The brands we carry would be sold for more in a high-end retail environment. We take a smaller markup to maintain every day low prices. For that reason, we never hold sales events or negotiate on pricing.

Do you ever have sales?

The furniture industry does tend to have large sales events around holidays but we don’t participate in that model. We keep our prices low everyday, so no reason to visit during a particular week or event.

Are the things you sell new? Do you sell used or consignment furniture?

Everything we sell is new and has been made by one of the manufacturers we list in our custom orders section. We don’t sell used furniture or accept items on consignment.

Do you carry other types of furniture? Beds? Wood furniture?

We only carry upholstered furniture or what would often be characterized as living room furniture (sofas, sectionals, loveseats, recliners etc.). We do not carry wood furniture, outdoor furniture or bedroom furniture.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We offer in-home delivery options throughout the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Areas. We can sometimes arrange to have things delivered to other locations using third party delivery companies. You can see our pricing options for local delivery here.

Can you haul my old furniture away?

We do offer a service to remove and dispose of old furniture when we are delivering your new furniture. It is $95 for the 1st piece and $20 for each additional piece of furniture. We only remove upholstered living room furniture (no bedroom furniture or other bulky items). Everything we haul away will be taken to the landfill so we encourage customers to exhaust all other possibilities before using us for removal. We do not offer this service independent of a purchase of new furniture.

Do you sell your floor models? Can I custom order?

We have many in-stock options that can be delivered within a few days. This typically includes every floor model as well as other inventory that is still wrapped and stored on site. You can also custom order from any of the brands we carry and we use our floor models as examples to help you make informed choices.

How long do custom orders take?

It varies by brand, model, covering etc. Right now, our fastest brands produce furniture in 4-6 weeks and our slowest brands produce in 8-12 weeks. As we learned during the last few years lead times are subject to change without warning and can occasionally run longer due to fabric or material delays.

Do I need an appointment to visit your store?

No appointment necessary to visit the store. We are open Tuesday-Saturday each week and always closed Sunday and Monday. We tend to be busiest between 12-3pm each day.

Do you have any other locations?

We have just one location in Soquel near Santa Cruz. There are other places in the state and country that use a similar name, but we have no relationship to any of them.

Do you carry sofabeds? Futons? What type of sofabeds?

We do carry sofabeds. Almost all of our manufacturers make a sofabed option and we have settled on some of our favorites from Stylus and Palliser. We try to always have examples on the floor so you can get a sense of how they work, sit and sleep. Both brands use memory foam mattresses to increase comfort and Palliser uses a unique mechanism that doesn’t require removing all the cushions.

We don’t currently carry futons, trundle options or sofabeds that open like a futon.
