Owned and operated by Bruce Cushnir, a former schoolteacher, the Couch Potato has been in business since March of 1988. We carry good, solid, well-made upholstered furniture from a variety of reliable sources.

Our goal is to make available the best stuff we can offer in a friendly, comfortable environment. By eliminating the high overhead of a fancy store, excessive advertising, and commissioned sales people, we separate ourselves from other furniture stores.

We know that it is unlikely that anything we carry will be found elsewhere for a better price. We do not apply any sales pressure to our customers. We encourage them to shop around and to take all the time they need. We do not have sales or post bogus "original prices"-- all items are priced fairly all year, our prices do not change unless a manufacturer makes a cost change.

We have nurtured strong, personal relationships with personnel at the manufacturers from which we buy. All items carry manufacturer's warranties against factory defects. We, along with the manufacturers, back up everything we sell. If a customer has a legitimate problem with any item purchased from us, we will do everything possible to remedy the issue.

We believe it is important to support the community that sustains us. We donate, at minimum, either a sofa or approximately $500 each month to selected local non-profit agencies through "The Spud Fund". We are proud to sponsor local youth sports teams and to support local schools.
